We picked up this card at the weekend. It is a Japanese postcard dated 1904. Apparently it was quite common for people to write in secret code so the postman did not read them while he was sauntering down the road. The code is not difficult; in fact, it is just 1=A, 2=B, etc. It is a love letter, so have a go at trying to work out what Howard wrote to Lillian. I have written the message in the comments box below.
