One rainy Saturday in London I picked up the sad remains of an old photo album from the 1920s. I own 4 pages of delightful photos of a group sailing to Mexico, visiting the Panama Canal and Robinson Crusoe's island, and then taking the railway, and camping and climbing in Chile. The seller told me he knew the photo album had come from someone called Metcalfe and that he had been a mining prospector in Chile. Unfortunately, I know absolutely nothing about mining and very little about South America, so if anyone can help with my research, please let me know! Here is a selection from the boat...
